Focus groups on prison staff training needs in Albania and Montenegro

Despite the COVID-19 outbreak and the impact of the pandemic in prisons, B-COMPETENT has never quit its research about prison staff training needs regarding human rights in penitentiary settings.

Our project staff delivered 2 Focus Groups via ZOOM platform in Montenegro on 31st of March and 13th of April and 2 Focus Groups in Albania on 21st and 29th of April.

Participants in Albania included Heads of correctional institutes, including a Women Penitentiary, Heads of State Polices and civilian staff such as the educational staff, social assistants,forensic psychologists and social workers.

In Montenegro the focus groups meetings gathered a wide array of law enforcementand justice professionals, such as: the Head of the Prison for the short sentences in Bijelo Polje, Prison Police Commander, Head of the Treatment Department, Seniors I Class Prison Cop, Medical Technician, Director of the Directorate for Enforcement of Criminal Sanctions, Chief of the Sector for the Staff Training, Senior supervisor of the prison police and many others.
